The Ohio State football team beat Purdue yesterday with a dominating performance. They beat the Boilermakers in a massive victory by the score of 59-31. 59 points is a lot of points to score against anyone. It’s even better to do it against a ranked team.

In this game, the Buckeyes answered all of the questions that had popped up offensively. They had struggled in the red zone the last two games. They did not have those same issues against Purdue. In fact, they scored touchdowns in their first two red-zone opportunities.

Ohio State should be able to keep doing that in their next two games as well. They face a Michigan State defense that gave up a ton of points to Purdue just two weeks ago. The Buckeyes shouldn’t have any issues doing the same at home next week.

With their offensive output yesterday, the Buckeyes now once again have the best offense in terms of yards per game in the country. They also once again score the most points in the country too. Whatever Ryan Day did to prepare his team this week certainly worked.

Perhaps part of that prep was just getting Garrett Wilson back. He was fantastic, scoring four touchdowns. He’s the first player in Ohio State football history to have three receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in a single game. He was dynamic all game long.

Hopefully, the offense can keep having days like this. This offense is good enough to win a national title, but the defense is not. The defense struggled against Purdue for most of the game. That will continue to be a theme all season long. That’s what made seeing the offense play so well so encouraging.

Ohio State certainly looks like one of the four best teams in the country right now.
