3. Have a day, Garrett Wilson

And for the best individual performer of the day, this honor goes to Wilson. The Buckeye wideout hailing from Texas came back with a furious return after missing last week’s game with 177 all-purpose yards on 11 touches, which was capped off with his four-touchdown day.

Again and again, Wilson made special plays in space refusing to go down. Wilson is beginning to look like the potential first receiver taken in the 2022 NFL Draft (over his fellow teammate Olave).

Wilson brings an all-around game that is nearly impossible to completely contain. If he touches the ball in space something special will happen.

That Purdue defender’s ankles are still sore. Wilson made it happen in space again on his 51-yard rushing touchdown on a jet sweep.

His sticky hands and body control were on full display too. This goal-line grab was ridiculous, his concentration is next level.

Wilson showed nearly every skill he possesses in this game. This was essentially an advertisement to draft Wilson in the upcoming NFL Draft, he is special.

The wideout comparisons for Wilson will be interesting in the pre-draft process. Personally, I see a lot of the Cowboys’ WR CeeDee Lamb in Wilson. Wilson is elite after the catch, is a good router runner, and is capable of contested and difficult catches with unnatural body control.

Have a day, Wilson. He could be the best receiver in the nation, although other Buckeye receivers have their own case. Overall, this was an enjoyable, dominant win for Ohio State. Day had this offense humming again, playing at its potential. The defense is still a process, but they can do enough in upcoming games.
