Ohio State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Nebraska
By Ryan Stano
Running the ball is the staple of Ryan Day’s offense. Everything builds off from being able to control the line of scrimmage in the run game. I think that the Buckeyes will be able to control the line of scrimmage and the running backs should benefit greatly from that.
Henderson is a truly special talent. I don’t expect him to get as many carries as he did against Penn State because I don’t think he’ll be out there as much. He should get around 16 or 17 carries and then sit the rest of the game. He’ll still go over 100 yards with that amount of carries.
Miyan Williams will get a lot of work too. I believe that he will also get to the century mark against Nebraska. He is also a pretty good running back and has the skill necessary to reach over 100 yards in minimal carries against a bad defense like Nebraska.
Williams will get the bulk of his carries in the second and third quarters before the Buckeyes put Evan Pryor in for some carries. I don’t think Pryor will get to the 100-yard mark, but both Henderson and Williams will. This goes back to the offensive line being dominant.
The backup offensive linemen will perform well too. Nebraska is a team whose will looks to be broken. They don’t look like a team that wants to be out there anymore. They’re just going through the motions. That’s dangerous against a team like Ohio State.
For my last bold prediction, we move to the defensive side of the ball.
