The Ohio State football team must be balanced on offense

No team has been better at being balanced than the Buckeyes. They lead the country in yards per game and in points per game. That balance makes them hard to stop and shows that they are a truly powerful offense, but they have gotten away from that a bit lately.

It seems that Ryan Day has let C.J. Stroud throw it a little bit more in recent games. Stroud is one of the best quarterbacks in the country and he is throwing to perhaps the best set of receivers in the country, so that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

What is a bad thing is how little work Henderson is getting for the production he is putting out. He has averaged close to 9 yards a carry the last two games but only had a combined 25 carries in those games. I’d like to see him get 25 carries in one game this season because of how good he is.

I understand that Day wants to get all of his weapons involved. That’s hard to do when you have as many weapons as the Buckeyes do. But that shouldn’t mean that one of your best ones doesn’t get the ball as often as he should. That needs to change on Saturday.

If Henderson gets 15 or more carries in this game, the Buckeyes will win by at least three touchdowns. Penn State can’t stop the run and Ohio State has perhaps the best running back in the Big Ten.

The final key for this game has to do with the atmosphere the two teams will be playing in.
