The Ohio State football team has done a really good job of playing football in recent weeks. Both the offense and the defense have been firing on all cylinders. Because of that, the Buckeyes have been able to win every game that they’ve played since their loss against Oregon.

Ohio State is ranked 5th in the polls right now. They are the highest-ranked Big Ten team at the moment, but that will likely change after this week. The winner of the Michigan-Michigan State game will likely jump the Buckeyes because that team would be undefeated.

Even so, the Buckeyes are playing like the best team in the conference. In fact, they are playing like one of the best teams in the entire country. We haven’t figured out yet just how good because of the quality of Ohio State’s schedule, but we will find out very soon.

Even if the competition has been weak, there are three stats that prove the Buckeyes are indeed true contenders to win a national title. All three of these stats show that if Ohio State is able to make the College Football Playoff, they will definitely make some noise.

The Buckeyes will get a chance to improve on all of these statistics this weekend when they play Penn State. That game will give us a better indication of just how good this team is. Penn State is a ranked foe and the first one Ohio State has played since they faced off against Oregon.

The first stat has to do with just how good this offense has been.
