The Ohio State football team will welcome Penn State to town this weekend in a night showdown. The Buckeyes are coming off another huge victory after beating Indiana 54-7. Penn State, on the other hand, suffered an upset loss at the hands of Illinois in 9 overtimes.

You would think that nine overtimes would be enough to remember the opponent that you lost to. That apparently isn’t the case for Penn State coach James Franklin. Franklin apparently thinks he’s playing Illinois this weekend and not Ohio State in the Shoe.

This isn’t the only time that Franklin has had a misstep talking about the Buckeyes. He called the Shoe “The Big House” as well. I mean COME ON. How many times has Franklin played the Buckeyes in his career? How can you possibly screw this up when you’re playing the best team in the Big Ten.

Franklin’s name has been circulating in rumors regarding the vacant USC job. He also just hired a new agency to represent them. 2+2 seems to be equaling 4 here because he’s also clearly very distracted. He just said he’s playing Illinois! And he said he was playing in the Big House!

Even if he wasn’t distracted, he would have a very hard team beating the Ohio State football team. The Buckeyes are the best team that Penn State has played this season. Franklin has only beaten the Buckeyes once in the last five seasons. I wouldn’t count on that changing on Saturday.

Next. Kourt Williams finally getting a shot. dark

That’s especially true if the head coach is this easily distracted. Ohio State lives for scenarios like this.
