Ohio State Football game Saturday: Ohio State vs. Penn State odds and prediction for Week 9
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team heads into the meat of their schedule. After beating the brakes off of Indiana in some bad weather, they return home to face the Nittany Lions. Penn State is coming off a tough loss to Illinois at home in 9 overtimes, so it might be a tough turnaround for them.
Ohio State will be taking on one of the tougher teams they’ve faced so far this season. This game may have lost some of its luster after Penn State’s loss, but it’s still very important. Ohio State can’t lose this game if they want to make the College Football Playoff.
Ohio State football vs. Penn State odds Week 9
The Week 9 odds on WynnBET have the Buckeyes as 17.5 point favorites. This makes sense after Ohio State made mincemeat of Indiana and Penn State lost to a far inferior team in Illinois. The over/under is set at 60.5, which seems a bit low in this one.

Ohio State football vs. Penn State prediction Week 9
Ohio State hasn’t lost to Penn State in a while. In fact, they haven’t lost since that infamous game where Penn State won on a blocked kick back in 2016. The Buckeyes have straight-up owned the Nittany Lions since then and you can sense James Franklin getting frustrated with that fact.
No one is playing better offense than the Buckeyes right now. How they play defensively in this game could give us a little more of an indication if they are truly national title contenders. Penn State’s offense isn’t exactly explosive, but it’s better than any offense they’ve played recently.
Given the fact that last week may have crushed Penn State emotionally, I think the Buckeyes easily handle them. Give me Ohio State by a score of 52-14. I don’t think this game is particularly close at any point. Penn State can’t stop this offense.
This should still be a fun game to watch. I always enjoy beating Penn State.
