Injuries on the Ohio State football team could be less of a concern heading into the Indiana game Saturday evening. The wear and tear of the college football season was starting to show on the Buckeyes’ roster with key players across the roster dealing with injuries. After a bye week, Ohio State football is getting healthy just in time for Indiana.

For the most part, the offense has been quite healthy so far. C.J. Stroud of course fought through his shoulder problem and seems fine now. Thayer Munford has missed time here and there but still has mostly played this season. The running back Miyan Williams started his season quickly but has been unavailable for an undisclosed reason. It would be nice to get Williams back, as he is a great second option behind TreVeyon Henderson.

As of now, it looks like Williams will return against Indiana, he is the only major contributor that has missed games recently. The health of the Buckeye offense is right where it needs to be at the midpoint of the season.

The defense is where OSU was dealing with some issues. For weeks now, veteran defensive ends have been in and out of the availability report, which is never good. Zach Harrison, Tyreke Smith, and Javontae Jean-Baptiste have all missed at least one game so far. Smith has now missed multiple games, he should be back since he was a game-time decision for Maryland prior to the bye week.

One of the Bucks’ best defensive players Haskell Garrett has been playing through an ankle injury himself. We saw Garrett get pulled against Maryland after he reaggravated that injury. Another big piece Cameron Brown, the starting outside cornerback, has missed several games this season.

The status of both Garrett and Brown was unknown and a slight concern for Indiana since they have played well and are major factors for the defense. Ryan Day confirmed both Garrett and Brown will return to action this week. The injuries of Garrett and Brown were probably the most concerning after Maryland but all is well now.

When Ohio State releases their availability report before their nighttime clash with Indiana, it should be the shortest it’s been perhaps all season. With the Buckeyes beginning to face some tougher opponents in the back half of their schedule, Ohio State football getting healthy is coming at the perfect time.
