The Ohio State football program has been made famous by the great edge rushers they have produced. Joey Bosa, Nick Bosa, and Chase Young are just the more recent names to have come through the program and have major success at Ohio State and the NFL.

Ohio State is now hoping that Kenyatta Jackson can be that next great edge rusher. The four-star recruit announced his decision to attend The Ohio State University live on CBSSports HQ. He chose the Buckeyes over Oklahoma and Alabama.

Jackson is the 15th member of the Ohio State football team’s 2022 recruiting class. Jackson is the 78th best player nationally and the 11th best player from the state of Florida. It’s too early to tell where the Buckeyes will put him once he gets to Columbus, but he is versatile.

Jackson stands at 6’5 and 235 pounds, so it makes sense to put him down at defensive end. The problem is that the Buckeyes have a ton of talented defensive ends already on the roster. It might be tough for Jackson to find playing time at a position that is so loaded.

His long reach helps him get to the passer off the edge and he has some speed too. He will have to move to defensive end because of his size and the fact that Ohio State doesn’t run a 3-4. Even in that crowded room, he has the talent and potential to be a really good player.

This commitment moves the Buckeyes back up to the fifth-best recruiting class in the country. Of course, they had the number one class before Quinn Ewers decided to come out a year early, so that number is a bit misleading. They still have some time to make up some ground as well.
