The Ohio State football team was always going to have a slight edge when they took on Penn State. It’s on Halloween weekend and the Buckeyes have been playing like the best team in the conference. Even so, it is a home game for the Bucks and that helps a lot.

We learned today that the Buckeyes will take on the Nittany Lions at 7:30 pm that weekend. The night game atmosphere gives the Buckeyes a better chance to win the game now. Ohio State fans typically only get to witness one night game a year.

For this to be that game is huge. Penn State is the toughest opponent left that Ohio State will play at home. To give them any sort of advantage in this game is good. This won’t be an easy game for the Ohio State football team to win because Penn State is still extremely talented.

Even if this wasn’t a night game, the Buckeyes were going to be tough to beat. They have the best offense in the country and their defense has started to round into shape. That defense is going to be the big question mark on whether or not the Buckeyes can beat the Nittany Lions.

We’ll learn more about that defense this weekend when Ohio State takes on IU at night in Bloomington. That’s another thing that will help the Buckeyes in their fight against Penn State; back-to-back night kickoffs. They will be able to keep the same schedule week to week.

Ohio State won’t be overlooking IU this weekend and neither will we. It’s not going to be a cakewalk. No games in the Big Ten are.
