Ohio State Football is still the best team in Ohio
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is usually the best team in the state of Ohio without much of a question. They have historically been the big boys in the state and are typically the best football program in the Midwest. Those things are somewhat in question this season.
Cincinnati is the third-ranked team in the country right now. The only game they really came close to losing was against Notre Dame and they still won that game by double-digits. They are truly a great football team and once again had a blowout victory today in beating UCF.
With all of that being said, they still aren’t a better team than Ohio State. The Buckeyes still have more talent than the Bearcats do and would beat them on a neutral field. Ryan Day’s offense is just too talented to be stopped right now by any team in the country.
I think that the Ohio State football team would beat Cincinnati if they played them right now. We might get a chance to see that matchup in a College Football Playoff setting at the end of the season. These are two teams that are primed to earn a Playoff spot.
That is the only way that we are going to be able to find out who is better because both of these teams have a good chance to win out, especially the Bearcats. They don’t play a single Power 5 team for the rest of the regular season. Ohio State’s road is a little tougher, playing three top-10 teams the rest of the way.
I know this will upset Cincinnati fans, but based on how each team is playing right now, I believe the Buckeyes are just simply better.
