Urban Meyer is not my problem. He’s not your problem either. Meyer is not the problem of any Ohio State football fan and none should be spending their time defending him in any way for the video that surfaced of a woman dancing up against him in a bar.

I take that stance because Urban Meyer coaches in the NFL for the Jacksonville Jaguars. That’s who he represents. He does not coach the Ohio State Buckeyes, nor does he represent the Ohio State football program in any way. He is a FORMER coach of the Buckeyes, not the current. His actions do not reflect on Ohio State in any way.

Look, I get it, fans always feel a connection to a successful former head coach or player. They continue to cheer for them and still look upon them as one of their own. You see this all the time. The way Buckeye fans view Meyer is no exception. I’m sure many OSU faithful are either outright fans of the Jags or keeping an eye on them each week. I’ve certainly paid more attention to them. But, when it comes to this video, it isn’t my problem as an Ohio State fan and it isn’t yours either.

Meyer’s actions in that video in no way reflect on Ohio State. Oh, trust me, I’m sure the Buckeye haters on message boards and elsewhere are claiming that video PROVES he did illicit things while he was employed in Columbus. By defending Meyer you feel you’re defending Ohio State.

That simply is not true. Here is what that video proves about Meyer’s time with OSU: nothing. It simply shows some woman rubbing against him while dancing in a bar during a time when Urban Meyer was employed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. That’s it. Nothing more. Haters can make all the claims they want, but they are baseless. The video has nothing to do with Urban Meyer as Ohio State’s head coach.

Meyer, or any former Ohio State player or coach is not my problem and they are not yours either. Their conduct, once they leave the Buckeyes, is in no way an indictment on the Ohio State football program no matter what some internet troll or hater in the media tries to tell you.
