Ten bold predictions for the Ohio State football team
By Alex Austin
A few individual players will step up for Ohio State and put up huge numbers.
Chris Olave has over 150 yards recevieing
Chris Olave has disappeared for Ohio State in back-to-back games. It has not mattered as the Buckeyes got wins in both, but being held to two catches for 12 total yards in two games is not like the star wideout. This game should change that.
I expect Stroud to specifically target Olave often and for the scheme to design plays to get the ball in his hands. Olave will be the team leader in yards and I think will have close to 200 by the time the game is done.
TreVeyon Henderson will rush for over 150 yards
Ohio State will have learned from watching Michigan running backs smash a brick wall for the entire second half last week against Rutgers. Rather than trying one play 1,000 times, they will mix things up. Being able to throw the ball will help, but mixing in runs that get the running back outside the ends will be huge.
Henderson is a talented back and will have his most success when he has space to make a man miss a tackle. Sweeps, tosses, and edge concepts should be used in addition to power runs up the middle. I think Henderson breaks off a few big-time runs and ends the day with his second-highest rushing total of the year.
