The Ohio State football team will take on Akron this evening at 7:30. It’s a game that will feature a new starting quarterback for the Buckeyes. Kyle McCord will likely start for them tonight with C.J. Stroud sitting out due to his shoulder injury.

Having a true freshman making his first start ever, it’s important that he plays in the best conditions possible. The weather forecast for this game was a little iffy earlier in the week. There was a possibility of rain, but that came in the morning and is all gone now.

The forecast now looks pretty good for this evening. At kickoff, it will be in the low 60s with some sun. It will get steadily colder as the game goes on and will drop down into the mid-50s but the time the game is over. Temperature won’t be a factor in this one.

The wind won’t be a problem either. It will be around 5 mph for most of the contest. That’s good for McCord as a freshman coming in without any snaps under his belt. Hopefully, this allows the Buckeyes to throw the ball a little bit better than they have been in the last few games.

This will be one of the last games that Ohio State plays that will be in semi-warm temperatures. Once October hits, the weather gets pretty dicey in Big Ten country. Even when the temperatures turn, that shouldn’t affect the Buckeyes too much. It’s something they are used to.

It would be great to see an improved effort from both the offense and the defense in this game.
