The Ohio State football team had a 38-7 halftime lead. They looked a lot better after a poor start to the game that led to Akron taking a 7-0 lead. Then the Buckeyes scored 38 straight points. That wasn’t enough for one Buckeye who was not happy with the lack of playing time he’s been getting.

K’Vaughan Pope, a senior linebacker, created a scene on the sideline after being waved off the field. It looked like he was going on the field for a play, and then Teradja Mitchell waved him off for a substitution. Now it looks like he’s done with this team.

According to Lettermen Row’s Austin Ward, the scene took place on the sidelines in front of everyone and Ryan Day had enough.

Right after this happened, Ryan Day sent him to the locker room. It seems like Pope’s time with the Buckeyes is over one way or another. I can’t imagine that he would get any playing time after an incident like this. Day needs to send a message that this isn’t acceptable.

This incident didn’t have any effect on the rest of the Buckeyes because they still had a major halftime lead. Even so, it will be interesting to see what the fallout out of this is once the game is over.
