The Ohio State football leader isn’t healthy

Simply put, Stroud isn’t healthy right now. He has a shoulder injury that he has been dealing with for a while. No one knows exactly how long, but it’s clearly an issue. It’s something that both Stroud and Day have brought up as to why he hasn’t played his best.

I’ve seen him warm-up and stretch his should in between series all season long. It’s not hindering his ability enough where he can’t be out there, but it’s clearly hindering him enough to not throw accurate balls on time. He has had issues sailing the ball over receivers’ heads.

When that happens, it’s likely that Stroud can’t bring his arm all the way down on some of these throws without feeling pain. Then he leaves is higher and misses his target over the top. It’s something that has happened in every game so far this season.

If he’s not healthy enough to make all of the throws that he needs to, then put someone else in who is. Depth is not a concern at the quarterback position this year. His shoulder is probably the reason he refuses to take off and run with the ball as well.

If Day thinks that Stroud is the best quarterback when he is healthy, fine. But Stroud clearly isn’t healthy and his play is hurting the team because of it. He needs to take some time off to get himself right.

The second reason McCord should start has to deal with the offense itself.
