Weekend games that impact the Ohio State Football team

#3 Clemson Tigers vs. #5 Georgia Bulldogs
The headliner for college football’s kickoff weekend features two schools who have their eyes set on the national championship at the end of the year.
Clemson has dominated a weak ACC for the last several years but has seen themselves fall flat in the last two College Football Playoffs. Tigers fans know they need to put together a good season and then competitive game in the playoffs to avoid the conversation off being a “has been”. Breaking in a new quarterback, and losing a lot of talent (especially on offense) will be the main objective early in the season.
Georgia is wanting to show that they can be players on a national stage. Typically ranked high to begin the season, the Bulldogs seem to lose a game they shouldn’t and then have the unenviable task of playing Alabama routinely. Georgia has recruited as well as anyone over the last few years, and with J.T. Daniels at quarterback, they feel this is finally the year to go all the way.
This is a fantastic game to open college football, as it could have ramifications throughout the rest of the year. While the loser is not out, they know that more than likely they will need to run the table in order to make the playoffs. That’s a lot of pressure. The winner has some breathing room knowing they can refer back to a quality win if needed at the end of the year.
While both teams are highly talented, the continuity of Georgia puts them over the top in a big game. Prediction: Georgia 28 Clemson 24
