The road to the College Football Playoffs typically takes many twists and turns. When teams are compared the line between four and five in the final rankings is typically pretty thin and opens up a heavy debate between the fanbases.
The majority of teams that have made the playoffs have had one loss and to some extent had their eyes on other teams throughout the year to see how they match up. Even though it is early, the powerhouse programs will be paying close attention to how the other playoff favorites are fairing early in the season.
Some rooting interests come from what helps the Buckeyes most, while others come out of pure spite for other programs. Regardless, the first week of the college football season has plenty of big matchups that could have some profound effects come the end of the season.
