The former Ohio State football player has been very good all preseason long. In fact, he’s been the best quarterback that the Bears have put on the field. Justin Fields is the future of this organization, but for some reason, Matt Nagy won’t let him be the present too.

If Nagy knew what was best for him and his job security, he would start Fields week 1. Fields is the best quarterback that the Bears have and the one with the most potential. He’s also the quarterback that the fans want to see the most.

Fan pressure is why Fields will eventually get inserted into a game as a starter this season. When he does get out there, expect him to put on a show. He has a running game that the other quarterbacks don’t have to their game, another reason why he should start Week 1.

Perhaps the biggest reason why Justin Fields should start Week 1 is because he’s ready right now to lead a team. He has shown that the speed of the game isn’t a problem for him and he can make all of the throws necessary to succeed, even as a rookie.

Fields’ numbers this preseason have been very good. In his three preseason games, Fields completed 61% of his passes for 276 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Oh by the way, he did all that while playing with a backup offensive line and backup receivers.

Fields would make the Bears a much more exciting team to watch. It would also make the Bears watched by a lot more Ohio State football fans. We always love watching former Buckeyes play at the next level. I just wish Fields was getting on the field sooner than he will.

No matter how much fans in Chicago gripe, they’re not going to see FIelds Week 1, even if they should.
