Keep everything in front of you.

This is mainly for the secondary. The Ohio State football team had issues with this against Alabama in the National Championship Game. They let several receivers get behind them for big plays after breakdowns occurred in the secondary time and time again.

Now, Minnesota is not Alabama. They are not even close to as talented as they are. But the Buckeyes still have to do a better job of keeping everything in front of them. The secondary had issues all of last year. Tanner Morgan knows that as well and will try to exploit that.

Ohio State doesn’t need to have excellent play from the secondary. In fact, I’d be immensely surprised if that happened against the Golden Gophers. There will likely be new faces back there in some capacity, so it won’t be a well-oiled machine quite yet.

The secondary just has to be average for the Buckeyes to win this game. They just can’t allow any big plays from the Golden Gophers. Big plays are how they can win this game. Minnesota doesn’t have the talent to hang with the Buckeyes throughout the entire game.

Next. Justin Fields' has a great first half, makes Matt Nagy look dumb. dark

If Ohio State is able to execute on all of these keys, there is no reason why they won’t leave Minneapolis with a victory and a 1-0 start in the Big Ten.
