Why Ohio State Football will beat Michigan again this year
By Alex Austin
Ryan Day is the best coach in the Big Ten
Since Ryan Day has come to Ohio State, he has elevated the program to new heights. On the recruiting trail, he has taken the strong foundation Urban Meyer created, and taken it higher with back-to-back top five rankings.
On the football field, Day has yet to lose in the regular season and has improved each year. He has not only beaten Michigan, but when Day was offensive coordinator into his head coaching he has obliterated the Wolverines. Ohio State has never been better.
Jim Harbaugh on the other hand was brought in as the savior of Michigan football. After some close encounters and “this close” type seasons, Harbaugh seems to be trending in the wrong direction. Disasterous games against their rivals (Ohio State, Michigan State, and Penn State), a poor bowl record, inability to perform against the best teams, and a losing record last year have Harbaugh looking like he has hit his plateau.
Until I see something dramatically different, it seems clear that Ryan Day is a better coach than Jim Harbaugh. And while that remains the case, Ohio State should continue to be lightyears ahead of Michigan.
