No, the Buckeyes don’t take on Alabama this season. That series isn’t scheduled to start for a few years. Even so, I bet these two teams will find a way to meet this season anyway. I think these are two of the best teams in the country and they will meet once again in the College Football Playoff.

The Buckeyes already know firsthand how good Saban is at coaching his team. Saban put on a masterclass of coaching in last year’s National Championship Game. Ryan Day learned a lot from the drubbing that his team took at the hands of Saban.

The question is whether or not Day learned enough to change the outcome of a potential re-match. Whether it’s in the National Championship Game or just in a semi-final, there’s a very good chance these two teams meet again in the CFP this season.

In that game, Day will have to be the better coach. The talent is about even, and both teams will have new starting quarterbacks this season. It will be up to Day to beat the best coach in College Football history. If he can do that, he will cement his own legacy as a coach.

I’d be shocked if another blowout was the result of a future matchup between these two teams. Both coaches are too good to let that happen on both sides. It would be a game that all College Football fans would love watching once again.
