Ohio State takes the next step and wins the National Championship

After a perfect season (with the annual clobbering of Michigan) and a Big Ten Championship, I think Ohio State ends up as a number two seed in the College Football Playoffs. There are a few teams that could end up ranked higher with an undefeated season and stronger strength of schedule or starting the season ranked higher (Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma).

The most like opponents in the semi-finals would be Oklahoma, Georgia, or Clemson (assuming Alabama does Alabama things and wins the SEC). I would take the Buckeyes in any of these games which would put Ohio State in the National Championship with most likely Alabama (maybe Oklahoma if the preseason hype is to be believed).

Either way, there are enough unknowns this year that teams seem to be pretty even heading into the season. With a strong offense and dominant defense, I would take the Buckeyes.

I believe Ryan Day learned a great deal from his loss to Nick Saban and will make sure to have his team prepared for whomever they face in the National Championship. Following in Urban Meyers pattern, I believe Ryan Day wins a National Championship for Ohio State in his third season as being a head coach for the Buckeyes.
