#4 A potential top ten matchup for the Ohio State Buckeyes

This is one of the most anticipated non-conference games in college football this year. A repeat of the 2014 National Championship Game sees the Oregon Ducks playing the Ohio State Buckeyes. That is the last time these two teams were able to play since the pandemic prevented Ohio State from traveling out to Oregon last year.

Even though the Ducks are ranked as the 11th best team in all of college football to start the year, the defending Pac 12 Champions are not expected to put up much of a challenge for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State will seek to gain rhythm for their new quarterback (presumably C.J. Stroud) in only the second game of the season after a road opener against Minnesota. The Buckeyes will get an extra few days, after starting their season on a Thursday, to prepare for the Ducks who are hoping to flip the script from the last time they played.

While Oregon possesses a strong team and talent from conference champions, Ohio State seems to be on another level which is why ESPN FPI gives Ohio State an 84.6% chance to win the game.

After this game, Ohio State will be heavily favored to win all of the rest of them. That is especially true if they look dominant. The next team on this list is someone who almost beat them a season ago after the Buckeyes took their foot off the gas.
