It has been several years since the Ohio State football team was National Champions, but this year marks another year where the Buckeyes have a strong chance to win it all.

The expectations in Columbus are always sky-high. Beat Michigan, win the Big Ten, make the College Football Playoffs, win a National Championship. Those are the goals for this team every year. This year will be no different despite the fact Ohio State will be replacing a lot of skillful players who left for the NFL or graduated. A new quarterback, revamped defense, and new starting running back will not change the goals or expectations of this team.

The Buckeyes have consistently accomplished half these goals with Urban Meyer and Ryan Day sitting with a perfect record against Michigan. Winning the Big Ten Title has also become a natural part of each season with Ohio State winners of the last four contests.

The College Football Playoffs have also been achieved seeing the Buckeyes making the last two and four out of seven total. The most elusive of these goals have been winning a National Championship. They came close last season, but couldn’t quite seal the deal.

Ohio State will break that streak and win a National Championship this year because of these three reasons.
