3 biggest potential trap games for Ohio State Football team
By Alex Austin
Heading on the road could pose a problem for the Buckeyes
Right before the Buckeyes prepare to host Penn State, which could be one of the biggest games in deciding the Big Ten East, they take a detour to Bloomington, Indiana. Indiana could be a sneaky good team this year with Michael Penix Jr. returning from injury, and a team coming off some big wins from the 2020 season. Ohio State could get caught looking ahead, especially if Penn State has climbed its way towards the top of the polls at this point.
Ohio State does have their bye week before Indiana, but that does not mean they won’t have a hard time staying focused. Over the last several years the biggest matchup that Ohio State has played within the Big Ten has been Penn State. With several games coming down to the final few minutes, this game may be played in primetime in Columbus.
Indiana has played Ohio State extremely close several times in recent memory and the Hoosiers always seem to put their best foot forward when facing the Buckeyes. This will always be the first big road test (sorry, Rutgers) since playing Minnesota so adapting to a hostile crowd will still be new for this team.
The last team on this list is a team that wasn’t very good last season, or really the one before that. Even so, they seemed to have the Buckeyes’ number fairly recently.
