Ryan Day will have plenty of big decisions to make for the Ohio State football team as he determines who will be starting and playing key backup roles in several position battles.

Every program in the country is currently sifting through their roster and determining who will be a starter, backup, and get bench time. Some of these decisions are made relatively easy based on a talent or experience gap between the players. Other times it might be players who are stepping into a vacated role and are all trying to prove themselves.

There also might be freshmen who come onto the scene and are so much better than the incumbent that they push for a starting role. Whatever the case might be, position battles through training camp are a big part of why teams practice all summer.

Ohio State lost a good amount of players to graduation and the NFL Draft and now is the time they look for replacements. Some decisions will come quickly to give that player all the reps possible, while others may not come to the first game (or even later in the season) if the coaches decide they will split snaps.

With the season fast approaching, here are the biggest position battles to follow for the Buckeyes. All of these will need to be determined very soon.
