Big Ten East Basement

Maryland (3-9)

It seems like forever ago that Maryland was challenging Dewayne Haskins and the Buckeyes in a wild game. From that point, many people thought Maryland might be able to turn it around and get momentum going to improve the program.

Unfortunately for the Terrapins that has not happened. This looks to be another year where the talent gap between Maryland and their opponents is too great to overcome.

Michigan State (4-8)

The Spartans are rebuilding and that will show in 2021. This team is working on the pieces it needs to be competitive in future years, but currently there is not enough talent on offense or defense to compete with the better teams.

Without star athletes, Michigan State will struggle to pull off many upsets, but games against some lower non-conference opponents should help pad the win category. The Spartans are coming under Mel Tucker but he needs more time to really turn the program around and bring it back to competition.
