The presumed starter for the Buckeyes

Clearly, Ohio State has a bevy of talent to choose from to pick the incumbent to Justin Fields. While Fields set a high bar for what the Buckeyes expect out of their quarterback, all four of these players have the talent to be able to step in without the team missing a beat.

Starting with the least likely to win the starting job this year is Quinn Ewers. That is not because he is less talented. In fact, I would say Ewers is the future of the Buckeyes at the quarterback position. However, he joined the competition late and that is a lot of ground for a true freshman to make up.

Kyle McCord is in a similar position. He has a little more time on campus but is still a year behind being able to work with Ryan Day to learn the scheme and grow and develop.

So between C.J. Stroud and Jack Miller, it seems like Stroud has the inside edge. Stroud has started the first-team reps (even though they have been split) and was listed as the backup last year.

dark. Next. Big changes to the offensive line?

It is unclear how many of these quarterbacks stick with Ohio State throughout their careers (I would expect a transfer or two over the coming years) but no matter who wins the Buckeyes are stacked at the quarterback position and have plenty of depth and talent to make a National Title run.
