Plenty of candidates for Ohio State to increase passing productivity

The wide receiver room is loaded. Chris Olave is the preseason best wide receiver in college football and will look to improve as a top draft pick. Garrett Wilson is a great candidate for a huge season. Wilson will move to the outside and is already one of the best athletes in the country. He will compliment Olave well and have plenty of success. But the player who will take the biggest jump will be Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Smith-Njigba is going to be playing in the slot with two potential first-round talents on either side of him. Both outside players will require consistent help which could live Smith-Njigba one-on-one often. He is more than capable of beating a defender and getting wide open in the middle of the field. Add into the mix increased attention to tight ends and Smith-Njigba might be the forgotten hero.

I would expect Olave and Wilson to both be stars this season, but don’t be surprised if there aren’t three Ohio State players pushing for the honor of best receiver in the country. Smith-Njigba had some great moments as a freshman a year ago. I would expect that to continue.

Next. Don't sleep on this DE. dark

These three players will be household names by Ohio State football fans everywhere by the time the season is over. These guys are the reason why the Buckeyes have an excellent chance to return to the National Championship Game and win it all this time.
