There were several former and current Ohio State Buckeyes that competed at the Olympics in Tokyo. Here is how each did in their respective sport.

The Olympics come to a close today after a good two weeks of competition. All of the live competition has now ceased and we know who won what medals. There were plenty of Buckeyes that competed in these Olympics as well. They all did pretty well too.

Kyle Snyder is perhaps the most famous former Ohio State Buckeye to compete in these Olympics. He won gold in Rio four years ago in wrestling. He once again competed for gold this year but fell in the final match. Snyder ended up taking home silver.

Nichelle Prince brought home an unlikely gold from Tokyo. She won as a member of the women’s soccer team from Canada. Canada won in penalty kicks over Sweden after the U.S. disappointingly took home the bronze medal. Prince gets to bring home gold though.

Hunter Armstrong was able to win gold as well. He won for his performance in the swimming pool, taking home gold as part of the 4 X 100 relay swimming team. He helped continue a tradition of excellence for United States swimmers competing in the Olympics.

Former Buckeye Ilse Paulis also won a medal. She was able to take the bronze medal for her work in women’s lightweight double sculls rowing. She was competing for the Netherlands. Paulis was the fourth Buckeye to win a medal in these Olympic games.

While there were a total of 26 Olympians with Ohio State ties, only those four were able to bring home medals from these games. Even with that being the case, all of these Buckeyes made the university proud. They all competed extremely hard and worked hard to even get to this stage.

This is the most amount of Buckeyes that have competed in one Olympics. They all worked extremely hard to get to Tokyo in the first place. They certainly made everyone proud!
