The Ohio State football program has lost its second recruit in the last week. This time, it’s a five-star cornerback who was one of the cornerstones of the 2022 recruiting class.

The Ohio State football program has the number one recruiting class for 2022. At one point, they had a sizable lead on everyone else. That lead has almost completely vanished. They are only hundredths of points ahead of the second-best class, which is Penn State.

That lead has dwindled because of a couple of de-commitments. They just lost Benji Gosnell, a four-star tight end. Now, they lose a five-star cornerback in the same class. Jaheim Singletary, a five-star cornerback from Jacksonville, will not be attending Ohio State anymore.

Singletary announced his decision to de-commit from the Ohio State football program on Twitter.

Singletary is a true stud at the cornerback position. He is the 14th-best player in the entire country. Losing someone of that caliber is never good. That is especially true when it comes to a position of need like cornerback. The secondary is the weakest part of the team.

It’s unclear as to why Singletary has de-committed at this point. Whatever the reason is, Ohio State fans should be slightly concerned. Losing five-star recruits, no matter the position, is never something you want to see happen. Day needs to lock these prospects up.

dark. Next. Buckeyes are young but talented

Ohio State needs to hold onto these recruits. If we find out any more information as to why Singletary left or anything of that nature, we will certainly let you know.
