I hear a lot of Ohio State football fans concerned that it will be harder to recruit in SEC territory now that Texas and Oklahoma are joining. I’m going to tell you why that shouldn’t be a concern.

The Ohio State football program is one of the premier brands in the country. They have the tradition and the recent success to recruit at an elite level. That’s why they have the best recruiting class in the country for the class of 2022 and had the second-best one in 2021.

I hear a lot of concern from Ohio State football fans that they won’t be able to recruit as well in the state of Texas now that Texas and Oklahoma are headed to the SEC. They are afraid that the lure of the new conference will be too hard for Ohio State to overcome with recruits.

It’s not going to be the case. Ohio State is such a national brand that they can recruit prospects from everywhere. The way they dominate the Big Ten will always give them a chance to make the College Football Playoff and compete for a national championship.

NIL also helps the Buckeyes case to recruit in SEC territory. The only place crazier about football south of Tuscaloosa is the state of Ohio. The Buckeyes will be able to promise recruits a lot of money, and that money will only increase with their playing time.

Ohio State already has a great pipeline in the state of Texas. That isn’t going to change even with conference realignment. Buckeye fans can rest easy knowing that Ryan Day is still going to kill it on the recruiting trail down south no matter what.
