Normally, I don’t engage with these types of rumors. But with everything that has been flying around these last few days, everything needs to be considered. Would it be good for Ohio State and TTUN to leave the Big Ten?

Let me start this off by saying that this is a rumor. A RUMOR. Nothing solid has come out about what I’m going to discuss. Like I mentioned, I normally don’t address rumors very much because most of them end up being completely false and never had any chance of happening in the first place.

Even so, this one has to be considered. According to Jack McGuire of Barstool Sports, the SEC has reached out to Ohio State and Michigan about possibly joining the conference.

Again, this normally doesn’t hold much water. Barstool doesn’t exactly report news. But, I did find this report interesting as well which made me consider that something like this might actually be true.

If this is indeed true, it would make sense that they would reach out to the two most storied programs in the Big Ten Conference. Ohio State clearly holds the most water in the conference and pretty much runs it. What it says, goes for the most part.

The SEC would love to have someone like Ohio State in their conference. It would make them so much money it’s insane. Will that happen? I highly doubt it. Ohio State is more likely to help other teams join the Big Ten than bolt for a different conference. They love it here.

Geographically, it doesn’t make sense. Ohio State is a lot more than just football or basketball. They have almost 30 varsity sports. That has to be considered as well. It wouldn’t make sense for them to want to travel to Florida for a pistol match.

Next. Ohio State players continue flooding watchlists. dark

I can’t completely dismiss this because we do live in crazy times. Anything is possible until you hear someone with power officially dismiss it.
