Carmen’s Crew, the TBT team made up of Ohio State basketball alumni, was able to beat Purdue’s alumni team to advance to the third round.
A team made up of Ohio State basketball alumni was able to beat a team made up of Purdue basketball alumni. Carmen’s Crew beat Men of Mackey in a dominating effort to reach the third round of the TBT. The game was played in Columbus at the Covelli Center.
Carmen’s Crew won the game 80-69 in a great offensive effort. William Buford led the way with 19 points. He went 7-13 and went 3-5 from deep. He is the best offensive player this team has and continues to show it. Buford was the TBT MVP back in 2019 when Carmen’s Crew won it all.
Jon Diebler had a good game from behind the arc as well. He made three three-pointers for 9 points on the day. The bench in general was really good. They combined for 34 points in this game. When a bench can contribute like that, it’s a safe bet that’s the team that’s going to win.
Carmen’s Crew also played some great defense. Issac Haas, Man of Mackey’s 7-foot big man, was completely shut down in this one at some points. While he did have 14 points, they weren’t able to get it in to him when they wanted to. Haas can be dominant if people don’t body him up.
With this win, Carmen’s Crew advances to the third round and will play Tuesday evening at 9 pm. They will play the winner of The Money Team and Team Hines. It’s a game that Carmen’s Crew will be favored to win. In fact, they will be favored the whole rest of the way now.
It’s fun to watch this team play together and play so well. It’s a fun ride.
