Former Ohio State football player Dwayne Haskins is in the news again, this time as a victim. No matter the circumstances, he just can’t stop finding himself in the news for reasons other than football.

Dwayne Haskins had arguably the best passing season in Ohio State football history back in 2018 when he threw for 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns in his one season as a starter. That was a school record for yards and touchdown passes. He was a Heisman finalist too.

Since that season, Haskins has had a problem keeping up that level of play. He has struggled mightily in the NFL. His stint in Washington didn’t work out because of his lack of work ethic. That was the story, as was him going to a party during the pandemic. Now, it’s something else.

Haskins is in the news now as a victim of domestic violence. His wife seems to have punched him in the face hard enough where he needed hospital treatment. This is not the kind of stuff that Haskins wants to be in the news for under any circumstance.

Obviously, Haskins is a victim here. It’s a shame that this happened at all. But Haskins just can’t seem to catch a break. He’s trying to resurrect his career in Pittsburgh as a member of the Steelers. He’s trying to have a real NFL career and this is probably going to be his last chance at that.

Next. Buckeyes may have a ball sharing problem. dark

As a Buckeye fan, I’m rooting for Haskins to get his chance to be better. He needs to put the work in off the field to make himself better on the field. He has to work harder if he wants his career to be picked up. Hopefully, he can get on the field and put some good news out there for himself.
