Ohio State football lands another secondary prospect
By Ryan Stano
The Ohio State football team is finally starting to see some progress from their very busy June and has landed another secondary prospect for the class of 2022.
The Ohio State football program worked very hard over the entire month of June in its recruiting efforts. They were able to host a ton of prospects and did get a few commits. Now the rate of hard commits is starting to ratchet up and stay steady.
Terrance Brooks has now committed to the Buckeyes. Brooks is a four-star cornerback from Little Elm, Texas. He is 5’11 and 190 pounds and has long, rangy arms that help him out as well. Brooks committed to Ohio State over his home school of Texas among a host of others.
Brooks gives the Buckeyes a corner who has a lot of potential. Brooks is also a track guy so you know he’s pretty fast. His speed is something the Buckeyes were sorely lacking in 2020 when the secondary got torched over the second half of the season.
Adding Brooks gives the Buckeyes yet another defensive back in the class of 2022. That gives them four defensive backs in that recruiting class. Brooks joins Ryan Turner, Jyaire Brown, and the number one corner in the country Jaheim Singletary.
In my opinion, after the disastrous season the secondary just had in 2020, you can’t add too many defensive backs to try and fix the problem. The secondary was the biggest reason why the Buckeyes weren’t able to seal the deal in the National Championship Game against Alabama.
This certainly won’t be the last recruit to commit in the next week or so. Expect a few more to announce their intent to come to Ohio State here pretty shortly. It’s a good time to be a Buckeye fan and a great time to be an Ohio State football player.
