Ohio State football: How the Buckeyes can close JTT

The Ohio State football team is hosting the best recruit left in the 2021 class this weekend. Here’s what they need to do in order to close his commitment.
J.T. Tuimoloau is the best recruit left in the 2021 recruiting class. He is one of the best defensive end prospects in the country and is 247Sports’ top overall recruit. Simply put, he is the real deal. Now, he is in Columbus for his in-person visit.
Ohio State will have to pull out all the stops to get him on campus. The coaches already showed up at the Columbus airport wearing Hawaiian shirts. They hope that personal touches like that are what gets Tuimoloau to enroll at Ohio State and play for the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes are the second to last visit for Tuimoloau. He still is going to visit Alabama after this. It’s always scary when you give Nick Saban a chance to make a final impression on a great recruit like that. That means they need to gain his commitment before that visit and not allow that visit to even happen.
Ryan Day is a master recruiter. He knows what he needs to do to grab someone like Tuimoloau. I’d be surprised if they didn’t do everything they possibly could to impress not just him but his family as well. He is going to get the royal treatment all weekend long.
Ohio State feels confident that they can land him. I don’t doubt that they feel confident. I am still nervous about Alabama. Nick Saban isn’t the best college coach of all time for nothing. He makes a living grabbing recruits like this. If they don’t lock him down this weekend, it’s over.

They’re going to show JTT everything that it means to be a Buckeye. They don’t have to do anything spectacular. Day just has to show that being a Buckeye is enough.
