The Basketball Tournament, better known as TBT, will take place this July. Ohio State basketballl’s alumni team, known as Carmen’s Crew, is back in business and hopes their home-court advantage along with more fans in the stands will propel them to another championship run, however one new TBT team has other ideas.

Carmen’s Crew won the tournament in 2019 and is looking to make up for last year’s first round defeat to 16 seeded House of ‘Paign. Carmen’s Crew is once again is loaded with talent and will undoubtedly have their eyes on the $1 million prize, however one TBT newcomer has other ideas.

“Carmen’s Crew…early exit” was the response from Zip ‘Em Up’s (Xavier’s alumni team) Director of Basketball Operations Jason Meyer when asked on the Inside TBT Podcast why his team belongs in the tournament this year.

While the TBT bracket will not be officially announced until June 21, it is likely Zip ‘Em Up will be playing in the Columbus region at the Covelli Center. Games in Columbus will tip-off on July 23 and wrap up on the 27th.

If either team ends up winning the region, it will be a short drive to Dayton, where the Championship will be held.

Carmen’s Crew may have found themselves a new in-state TBT rival, let’s keep our fingers crossed that the basketball gods bless us with a match-up against Zip ‘Em Up.

Next. Can Sevyn Banks match expectations?. dark

It will be fun to once again see Ohio State basketball alumni play for some money. I enjoy watching this tournament every year.
