Which of the former Ohio State football players who just got drafted will be on the team that ends up having the best record?

The Ohio State football team had 10 players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. We have talked about how each player fits in with their new team and who might be in the best place to succeed. Do we know which player went to the team that will have the best record?

Right now, the most logical player to be on the best team is Trey Sermon. Sermon was the third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have a chance to be good again because their defense will actually be healthy. The whole defense was hurt in 2020.

Now that they will have Nick Bosa and the rest of that defense back healthy, Sermon has a chance to step up and help the 49ers contend in the NFC West. They may not win the division, but they have a chance to make the playoffs. They could be a dangerous contender if they do.

This is in spite of the fact that the 49ers decided to draft Trey Lance instead of Justin Fields. Fields will certainly have the Bears in a better spot than they were in a year ago, but they aren’t ready to contend quite yet. They have too much to do in order to be that good this soon.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the 49ers have a chance to actually contend for the Super Bowl if they stay healthy and qualify for the playoffs. Their defense is good enough to be a contender if they get that far. Defense wins championships once the playoffs start.

Next. The true impact of losing Justin Fields. dark

There’s still a lot to do for all teams to improve before the season starts. Maybe other former Buckeyes will be on a better team with a better record.
