The Ohio State football team will be playing their first game of the season in primetime.

While most of Ohio State’s games are during the day, their opener will not be. Ohio State will be facing Minnesota in their opener at 8 pm on the first Thursday of the regular season. It will be the biggest game on that real first day of the college football season.

This will be one of the few games that the Buckeyes play at night in the 2021 season. While we don’t know the time of a lot of their games yet, we do know that a few other games they play will be at noon. What we don’t know which opponents will get the honor of facing them at other times.

Personally, I wish that the Buckeyes played more games later in the day. Noon games aren’t horrible, but more eyeballs are on them when they get to play at night. Ohio State seems to only play one or two night games a year now. Every other kickoff seems to be at noon.

That’s mainly because FOX wants them to be on their network all the time. They are the biggest brand name in the Big Ten. Ohio State gives FOX the best chance to attract viewers. I just wish ABC would pick up more of their games to be played at 3:30.

No matter what time the Buckeyes play this season, they should be favored in every game they play. They are one of the most talented teams in the country and will have more talent than every team that they play in the regular season.
