The Ohio State football team should have another scary defensive line rotation in 2021 to terrorize quarterbacks across the conference.

The Ohio State football team is known for its strong defensive line play. They have a long line of great defensive ends who have been able to terrorize quarterbacks. Both Bosas, Chase Young, Tyquan Lewis, and countless others over the past six or seven years have gone through the program.

Defensive tackles have been a little more unsung. But players like Dre’Mont Jones, Tommy Togiai, and now Haskell Garrett have all been key players on the line. The dreaded “rushmen” package has terrified offensive lines since Larry Johnson has come on board.

This year should be no different in that regard. The Buckeyes should have plenty of defensive linemen who can not only get after the passer but plug up holes in the run game. Along with Garrett, Taron Vincent should finally get his shot to shine at defensive tackle.

Vincent should finally be healthy enough to contribute up the middle. Tyreke Smith and Zach Harrison will flank Garrett and Vincent. Jack Sawyer, who was a monster in the Spring Game, will get a lot of playing time as well. J.T. Tuimoloau would too if he heads to Columbus.

Javontae Jean-Baptiste will continue to get a lot of snaps as well. Ty Hamilton will too after showing some flashes as a freshman in 2020. The key for the defensive line is to keep rotating players so they all stay fresh and are able to play at peak level.

Ryan Day will look to his defensive line to lead the way on that side of the ball with such little experience with the linebackers and with how poorly the secondary played last year. He shouldn’t be disappointed with what he sees.
