The Ohio State basketball coach says he will be very busy on the recruiting trail in the month of June, hardly having any time for himself.

Even though the Ohio State basketball team has 14 players on its roster for next season, that doesn’t mean Chris Holtmann is sitting at home doing nothing. He is using this summer as a time to hit the recruiting trail hard for future versions of his team.

In an interview on The Buckeye Show on 97.1 the Fan, Holtmann said that he will be having one or two recruiting visits a day in the month of June seven days a week. That’s a lot of visits in a single-month span for anyone. Holtmann is showing a commitment to improving his team.

The reason why he is cramming all of these recruiting visits into the month of June is that the recruiting dead period will finally end starting June 1. Everyone in all sports will finally be able to host recruits on campus and actually have in-house visits of recruits as well.

While Holtmann and company weren’t able to land Efton Reid, he is hoping to grab other great players. One such great player is 6’11 forward Felix Okpara. Okpara is a four-star player who is the 34th best player in the country for the class of 2022. Holtmann is looking to strengthen that class.

That class is already the number one ranked class in the country. That class already has three guards, with two four-star players and one three-star guy. Holtmann’s frenetic June will hopefully improve that class, as well as the class of 2023.

I can’t wait to see what Holtmann has up his sleeve. He has recruited very well in his Ohio State tenure, and I expect that to continue.
