Marcus Hooker is the brother of former Ohio State first-round safety Malik Hooker. The elder Hooker had one of the best individual seasons in Buckeye history, snagging 7 interceptions and returning 3 of them for touchdowns back in 2016.

A lot was expected of Marcus once he strode into campus. Unfortunately, things have not gone as planned. He got charged with a DUI before even arriving at Ohio State and then had another incident a few weeks ago. His off-the-field issues are a major problem.

If Hooker’s play on the field was a little better, maybe Day would be more inclined to keep him on the team. That is not the case. In three years, he’s only played in 11 games. Last year, he got a shot to play significant snaps and didn’t do much with them.

Hooker got burned up and down the field in 2020. He wasn’t able to take advantage of starting a few games, and eventually got replaced by Josh Proctor at safety. Now, he needs to get his personal life together and head elsewhere if he wants to continue his football career.

I would be very surprised if Hooker was still on the roster when week one rolled around. He might need to transfer down to the FCS level at a place that will look past his personal issues. That might help him get his football life back on track.

The final player on this list is the biggest loser of the quarterback competition and someone who clearly performed the worst during the Spring Game.
