Steele Chambers is someone who came in with some hype, like all the running backs have that have come through the Ohio State football program. He came in as a four-star running back from Rosewell, Georgia in the 2019 recruiting class. He was expected to help fill the void of J.K. Dobbins.

Instead, Chambers has struggled with injuries. He’s only played in three games the last two seasons, so he was able to redshirt in the 2019 season. He only has 28 carries for 221 yards and one touchdown in his two years with the Buckeyes.

Chambers is now stuck in a very competitive running back group. He has shown flashes, but not enough to warrant significant playing time. At best, he goes into the season as the fourth running back on the depth chart, behind TreyVeon Henderson, Master Teague, and Miyan Williams.

It would probably be in Chambers’ best interest to leave before the season starts. He needs to go somewhere where he can get the carries to showcase his skills. He could start at most other programs in the Big Ten and around the country. It would be wise to move on.

It’s a shame that Chambers never could be fully healthy to showcase what he had when both Teague and Trey Sermon were injured at different points in the 2020 season. Instead, he will only see the field in mop-up time if he stays in Columbus.

The second guy on this list is someone who has had some legal problems and won’t likely see the field for the Buckeyes again.
