The fourth Ohio State football player taken in the 2021 NFL Draft is Wyatt Davis as he is taken in the third round to the Minnesota Vikings.

Wyatt Davis fell further than I thought he would. I had the former Ohio State football player coming off the board in the late second round or early third round. Davis had to wait until the 86th overall pick to hear his name called, but he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings.

Davis was an All-American for the last two seasons at Ohio State and really played strongly in 2019. He took just a slight step back in 2020, but still shouldn’t have fallen that far. The Vikings get a really good guard in Davis and he can start.

Minnesota gets such good value this late in the draft. Davis can start day one up front and protect Kirk Cousins next season. Davis is someone who pushes well off the line of scrimmage in the run and really finishes his blocks. He gets to the second level really well.

In pass protection, Davis keeps his balance and doesn’t let the bull rush get to him. In Minnesota’s run-heavy system, he should be able to open up holes for Dalvin Cook to run through. Davis is going to be a solid offensive lineman for the next 10 years or so.

Next. Josh Myers head to Green Bay. dark

I really like this pick for the Vikings. He is someone who is tough and will play through bumps and bruises. He is someone that his teammates will love playing next to.
