The last Ohio State football player, and last player in general, to be picked on Friday night was linebacker Baron Browning. Browning is headed to Denver.

Baron Browning came into the Ohio State football program as a five-star recruit. He was expected to do great things in his time with the Buckeyes. He was never quite able to live up to his lofty potential and expectations. Because of that, he didn’t start until 2020.

That one year of starting was enough to help get him drafted by the Denver Broncos with the last pick in the third round. Browning was the last of five Buckeyes to get drafted on Friday night. He certainly has the athleticism and skills to be a good linebacker at the next level.

Browning’s athleticism allows him to cover tight ends and running backs out in the passing game. He also gets downhill in a hurry. His main problem is consistency. He was never quite able to put it all together at the same time during his tenure in Columbus.

Regardless, at this point in the Draft, he’s not a bad pick. Denver is taking a flier late in the third round on a guy that they think they can coach up to fully reach his potential. Vic Fangio is a really good defensive coach and he should be able to get the most out of Browning.

Next. Trey Sermon goes in the 3rd round to the 49ers. dark

Browning will have to work hard to work himself up to playing significant snaps in the next few years. He is willing to take coaching, so that shouldn’t be an issue. He has the opportunity. Now, it’s time for Baron Browning to finally put it all together.
