Ohio State football: Justin Fields will make teams pay
By Ryan Stano
Any team that passes on the former Ohio State football player is going to regret it for years to come because he is going to make them pay.
After starting the year as the presumptive number two pick in the Draft, Justin Fields has now slid to be the fourth quarterback taken. That’s after the 49ers seemed to have turned their focus on Mac Jones and Zach Wilson seems bound for New York.
The former Ohio State football player will now only get taken fourth overall at best. That team right now is slated to be the Atlanta Falcons, but a team could trade up and take that pick from them. There are reports that he could fall even further.
If he does fall further, or even if he isn’t picked until fourth overall, that would be a mistake. Trevor Lawrence is the best quarterback in this draft. I think that is pretty indisputable. But I truly believe that Fields is the second-best quarterback in this draft and he will be a star in the NFL.
Fields will make sure that he takes note of every team that passed on him in the Draft and make sure he shows them that they make a big mistake. I wouldn’t be surprised if in two or three years that Fields comes out as the second-best player in this entire draft.
Ohio State does a fantastic job of preparing its players for the NFL. Not just that, but Ryan Day has NFL experience and coaches the offense using that knowledge. Fields has the skills that make a successful NFL quarterback. He is set to be the most successful quarterback from Ohio State.
No matter where Fields gets drafted, he will already have a ton of motivation to prove people wrong. You aren’t a Heisman finalist and don’t throw for 63 touchdowns in two years to only 9 interceptions and not have some skills.
