Ohio State football: 3 teams that should trade up for Justin Fields
By Ryan Stano
The Steelers, like the Patriots, have had the same quarterback for a long time. Ben Roethlisberger decided to come back for one more year, much to the chagrin of a lot of Steelers fans. His play was why Pittsburgh fell off at the end of the season and couldn’t win in the playoffs.
Pittsburgh did sign former Buckeye Dwayne Haskins to be the backup and to possibly try to fix him as a reclamation project. He can sit behind Ben and learn the offense and learn how to mature. But if they don’t think he’s the answer, they should trade up for Justin Fields.
Fields would be loved by Steelers fans everywhere. He is tough, he works hard, and he has a big arm. He would be able to step right in and play well for a team that has a Super Bowl-caliber defense. Fields very well could be the missing piece to a championship.
The Steelers don’t typically make big moves like this in the Draft, but this would be a worthy exception to make. Fields is truly a franchise quarterback that can make a difference. Not only that but this roster is made to win now and help him succeed right away.
If any one of these teams were to trade up for Fields in the Draft, it would immediately make them a better team. All of these teams are in need of a franchise quarterback that they can count on. Justin Fields would be that guy for the next 10-15 years.
