Ohio State basketball: Musa Jallow announces new school
By Ryan Stano
The former Ohio State basketball player entered the transfer portal after the season ended and has now announced where he will be playing basketball this season.
Musa Jallow was one of the first recruits that Chris Holtmann brought into the Ohio State basketball program. He is from Bloomington, Indiana and was expected to go to IU. In the end, he decided to choose Ohio State and reclassified to play for the Buckeyes sooner.
Unfortunately, Jallow just never put it together in Columbus. He is a super athletic player who showed flashes of what he could become every year. He just never quite was able to put it all together offensively and was still a liability three years into the program.
The former Buckeye decided to transfer after this past season ended to look for other opportunities. He needs to go to a program that can give him the minutes he needs to fully develop into the type of player he wants to be. Today, he announced that program.
Jallow will be playing for the Charlotte 49ers this upcoming season. This is a program that he can start on and provide solid minutes. He still is a very good defender and can impact this team immediately on that end of the floor. Now, he can develop offensively too.
I really hope Jallow can improve and become the type of player he thinks he can ultimately become. He was a very hard worker when he was in Columbus. He was the ultimate team guy and was loved by his teammates. Jallow is someone who deserves some success.
The Buckeyes will be an intriguing team to watch next season. They will have a bunch of players back from this season’s squad as well as adding a couple of transfers. 2021 will be a great year for Chris Holtmann’s squad.
